Look at what I got to go to on Wednesday ( 4-29-09)!!!!

Some of you who live in Michigan probably saw it on the news (that is if you watch the news! : P ) Wednesday evening or night. I am a member of the Association of Surgical Technologist (AST) and even though I have moved to Alabama, I actually am still a member of the Michigan AST. We went to Lansing, Michigan on the 29th of April and held a mock total knee procedure smack dab in the middle of the rotunda of the capitol building. We did it mostly to get Michigan legislators to see what we do behind closed doors of the OR, and to get them to get some bills into legislation regarding us surgical technologist. We didn't get to see much where we had to stand, but it was totally awesome!!!!! Here's a couple of links you can follow to see a news clip and some pictures of the historic event:

The only thing that I was bummed out about was not getting something for being there, like a t-shirt or something. BOO!!!! : P
