Hello again world!

It's been longer than I thought since I've last posted! I've been busy with life in general..... and getting ready to graduate! Yay! I'm sooooooo excited! Next Friday is graduation, and I will then officially be able to put an ST after my name, which stands for surgical technologist. THEN I will take my certification exam, and add a C to the ST. Pretty sweet, huh?
I'm also thinking about eventually getting certified as a first assistant. Only like 6 months to a year more of school is involved and another certification exam BUT I will be able to actually do some suturing, cutting, pretty much more at the surgical field than just handing instruments to the surgeon. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE doing the surg tech position in surgery, but I would love to really get my hands into surgery more...... literally!!!!!
Surgery to me isn't just a job or career, it's a life long learning time and it's also a calling. I always knew that my place was to be in medicine. In high school, I wanted to be a phlebotomist, then it went to an RN, then to an EMT, and finally a CST, and I know for sure that my place is in surgery. A lot of people I've talked to have say ewwww, that's gross! But they also say that someone has to do it. When I was doing my clinicals last year, I would always go into a surgery with an open mind and to be prepared to be fascinated. Psalm 139:14 says " I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well." It's exactly on. To see things moving in the human body in the incision that was just made is amazing. I've read it in the text books that I've studied out of, I've heard that it can happen from my instructors, but to see it with my own two eyes is just amazing! That's why I love surgery so much.

Ok...... I'm done rattling on now! I need to get on here more often, and I need to get some graduation pics up here once next Friday comes along!!!! Yay for graduation!!!!!!!!!!
